OpenSQL Camp 2009 in Portland, OR
The event is confirmed, sign up and make your travel reservations today!
Much like OpenSQL Camp 2008 and the 2009 European edition, this will be an un-conference style get together for people interested in Open Source Databases. We are not focusing on any one project, and hope to see representatives from a variety of open source database projects attend. OpenSQL Camp is free and its format is designed to blend spontaneity with the quality and depth that comes only with pre-planning. We borrow a little from many different styles of conferences to achieve this. Our target audience are users and developers, but others are encouraged to attend too. There will be both presentations and hackathons, so there will be plenty of opportunities to learn, contribute, and collaborate!

Travel
The venue is conveniently located in downtown Portland nearby many hotels and restaurants.
Airport - Portland International - PDX
There are direct flights from many cities on the west coast, and from larger cities across the US.
Transportation
There is great public transit from the airport to downtown, and also all around downtown to get between hotels, restaurants, and the venue. Downtown Portland is also great to walk around, and almost everything you will need is within walking distance. Portland can be wet in November so remember to bring your umbrella!
Take the Red Line MAX train from the Airport to downtown (approximately 30 minutes). The train stop is directly connected to the terminal (no shuttle needed). The fare is $2.30 for a one-way ticket.
Hotels
Hotels downtown and near the convention center are all close to the venue, so these would be best. Due to the size of the conference, we are not looking at finding any group rates with a single hotel. Please send a message out to the mailing list if you are looking to share a room! Hotels near the airport are always an option as well, but this would be a 30 minute train ride each way.
