Conference Format

OpenSQL Camp's format is designed to blend spontaneity with the quality and depth that comes only with pre-planning.  We borrow a little from many different styles of conferences to achieve this.  Our target audience is a) users and b) developers. Others are encouraged to attend too, but these two groups are what we plan and organize around.

We begin the event with socializing and planning: Friday (Nov. 14th) at 6pm. Snacks will be provided.   The second day has a mixture of planned sessions, Open Spaces sessions, and lightning talks.  We bookend these with a brief opening and closing keynote.   The planned sessions are chosen in advance from noted speakers in the field.  At 45 minutes, these are the longest sessions. The Open Spaces sessions chosen the evening before are limited to 15 minutes each. There is one group of lightning talks.   The third day is a hackathon that feeds off the energy and knowledge-sharing of the first day.
